Occupational Therapy Services
Hello!A little more information about each Glimmer Therapy service, what it includes and what you can expect.
My approach is child-led, neurodiversity-affirming and regulation first. The aim is always to understand the individual child or young person in front of me, rather than asking them to fit into a predetermined way of participating.
Online Parent Consultation
€250 | 60 minutes | Online
Sometimes you do not need a full assessment. You may simply need space to talk through what is happening and better understand your child or young person.
This may suit you if…
You have questions around:
Sensory processing • Regulation • PDA • Autism • ADHD • Executive functioning • School • Burnout • Behaviour • Everyday routines and participation
We will look at what may be sitting underneath the difficulties you are seeing and explore practical, neuroaffirming strategies that make sense for your particular child and family.
What to Expect
Before the appointment, you will complete relevant background information so that we can use our time together meaningfully.
During our 60-minute online consultation, we can explore your main concerns, think about your child’s nervous system and environment, and identify practical ways forward.
Included
60-minute online consultation • Individualised discussion and recommendations • Written summary/recommendations following the consultation
Child-Led Sensory Assessment
€500 | Ages 2–19
A child-led Occupational Therapy assessment exploring sensory processing, nervous system regulation, movement and everyday participation through play, movement, interaction and clinical observation.
This may suit your child if…
They experience sensory differences, overwhelm, regulation difficulties or challenges with everyday participation, or if a more formal tabletop assessment would not currently give the most meaningful picture of them.
The Process
01 | Parent Consultation — 30 minutes online
We begin with a 30-minute consultation to gather background information, understand your child’s strengths and needs and identify what you would particularly like support with.
02 | Child-Led Assessment
Your child can explore the therapy space through play, movement and sensory activities while I observe and introduce activities where helpful.
There is no expectation to sit at a table or complete activities in a particular order.
I do not provide clinical feedback during the assessment itself. My focus is on your child and gathering the information needed before drawing conclusions.
03 | Interpretation & Report
I bring together information from the consultation, observations, questionnaires and assessment before preparing a detailed Occupational Therapy report with individualised recommendations.
04 | Feedback — 30 minutes online
We meet to discuss my findings, recommendations and any questions you have. Your completed report is shared following this appointment.
Included
30-minute parent consultation • Child-led assessment • Clinical interpretation • Detailed OT report • Recommendations for home and school • 30-minute feedback session
Comprehensive Occupational Therapy Assessment
€750 | Ages 9+
A comprehensive assessment combining standardised Occupational Therapy assessment with child-led observation, movement and regulation activities.
This may suit your child if…
There are questions around areas such as motor coordination, Dyspraxia/DCD, handwriting, dysgraphia, visual motor skills or assistive technology.
The Process
01 | Parent Consultation — 30 minutes online
We begin by gathering developmental and educational background information and identifying the areas you would particularly like explored.
02 | Occupational Therapy Assessment — approximately 1.5 hours
The assessment includes structured tabletop activities alongside movement, sensory activities and regulation breaks.
Depending on the reason for referral, formal assessment may include tools such as the Movement ABC-2, DASH Handwriting Assessment and Beery VMI.
I will also consider the wider picture, including sensory processing, regulation, executive functioning and everyday participation.
I do not provide clinical feedback during the assessment itself as formal assessments need to be scored and interpreted first.
03 | Interpretation & Report
I bring together formal assessment results, clinical observations, parent information, questionnaires and previous reports where relevant.
A comprehensive Occupational Therapy report is prepared with findings and practical recommendations for home and school.
04 | Feedback — 30 minutes online
We meet online to discuss the findings, recommendations and possible next steps. Your report is shared following this session.
Included
30-minute parent consultation • Approximately two-hour assessment • Standardised assessment where appropriate • Clinical interpretation and scoring • Detailed OT report • Individualised recommendations • 30-minute feedback session
School Observation & Occupational Therapy Report
€550 | West Wicklow, Kildare & Dublin
Sometimes the best way to understand what a child is finding difficult at school is to see them within the environment where it is happening.
The aim is not simply to observe behaviour, but to understand what may be sitting underneath it and identify practical changes that may support participation.
This may suit your child if…
They are experiencing challenges with regulation, sensory processing, attention, participation, transitions or accessing learning within school.
The Process
01 | Parent Consultation — 30 minutes online
Before the visit, we discuss your child’s strengths, needs and current school experience and identify the particular questions you would like me to explore.
02 | School Visit
The visit includes:
Classroom observation • Yard/break-time observation where appropriate • Consideration of regulation and sensory processing • Participation and engagement • Environmental factors • Teacher/relevant staff consultation
03 | Interpretation & Report
Following the visit, I bring together information from parents, school staff and my observations.
A detailed Occupational Therapy report is prepared with practical, individualised recommendations for school.
04 | Feedback — 30 minutes online
We meet to discuss my observations and recommendations and answer any questions you may have. Your completed report is shared afterwards.
Included
30-minute parent consultation • School observation • Teacher consultation • Clinical interpretation • Detailed OT report • Individualised recommendations • 30-minute feedback session
My Approach
Regulation First
I do not believe Occupational Therapy should be about seeing how successfully a child can comply with adult-led expectations.
My aim is to understand the individual child or young person in front of me.
That means considering their nervous system, sensory processing, communication, environment, executive functioning, strengths and capacity alongside any formal assessment findings.
Movement, breaks, play, sensory activities, conversation and time to become comfortable are all welcome.
There is no expectation for a child or young person to mask, perform or push through distress in order to participate in Occupational Therapy.
